Men’s Weight Management: The weight or the shape?

Men now strive to look good. But in the context of health, what is the Ideal Body Weight for Men?

Normally we would refer to BMI or calorie calculator. The calorie calculators are not for everyone! They are for the average adult, within a desirable body weight range, and wants to maintain their weight. The Body Mass Index (BMI) calculator is for the average adult between the ages of 20-65. Ideal weight depends on the body frame size (Small Frame, Medium Frame or Large Frame) and height.

While I am not dwelling into overweight or looking fat. Let see, what is the risk or possible of risk if you are overweight or look fat? According to Michael Jensen, M.D People who gain belly fat are at greater risk of serious health problems than are people who accumulate fat in other areas — and men are more likely than women to gain weight around the waist. Having a large amount of belly fat increases your risk of:

  • Heart disease
  • Stroke
  • Some types of cancer
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Insulin resistance
  • High triglycerides
  • Low levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or “good,” cholesterol
  • Metabolic syndrome
  • Sleep apnea

Separate study also showed after moderate weight loss, men can expect improvements not only in their overall health, but also in their sex lives.

Weight loss was indirectly associated with increases in the male sex hormone testosterone and declines in the estrogen hormonein the study. Obesity has been linked to lower sperm counts and infertility.

Conclusion:

Eat less, workout more

Diet or eat less DOESN’T mean not eating. This means . . .

1. Have a good and balanced breakfast in the morning.

2. Eat a total of five to six SMALL meals a day.

The Man in the Mirror bowing out-Goodbye Michael

Filed under: Entertainment, World — Tags: — dxball @ 2:55 am

Micheal Jackson, I started to discover his voice in the audio cassette, the first song ‘Billie Jean’. Later, I found ‘Bad’ and ‘Dangerous’. But the most remembered was and still is ‘The Man in the Mirror’ known as the ‘Earth Song’ – was the first that overtly dealt with the environment and animal welfare.
